What is Lockout Tagout?

Lockout tagout (LOTO) procedure placards are a visual system that helps industries ensure dangerous machines are powered off and safely restored during maintenance or repair. This system guides workers through clear, sequential steps that prevent accidental energy release.

ECPL develops high quality, durable lockout tags, machine specific procedure placards, and a wide range of machine safety signage. We can build these from scratch or tailor them to your exact specifications. In addition, we produce emergency signs, access placards, and evacuation maps to support your full safety program.

Lockout Icons/Lockout Tags

ECPL’s lockout icons and tags work for any equipment across all industries. Workers place or hang these tags directly on or near the machine to identify each energy source. You can choose adhesive backed tags or hole punched versions for easy application.

Although the standard size is 4” x 4”, we customize dimensions to fit your needs. Because we guarantee them for the life of your machine, these icons offer one of the most reliable ways to visually identify every energy source.

Graphic and Procedure Placards

Graphic and procedure access placards give workers a clear overview of where energy sources are located on a machine. When paired with lockout icons or tags, these placards explain how to safely lock out each source and restore normal operations.

ECPL’s team creates placards for a wide range of machines, including CNC equipment, transfers, presses, vision systems, test equipment (Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, etc.), conveyors, and more. As a result, you receive accurate, equipment specific visuals that support safe decision making.

Machine Nameplates

ECPL designs or duplicates machine nameplates that display essential information such as machine name, load capacity, and voltage. These nameplates help employees quickly understand the equipment they are working with. Nameplates can go up to 12” x 18” with strong adhesive backing for secure placement.

At ECPL, every detail is tailored to your needs. Your machines always display the information required for safe operation.

LOTO Annual Audit Services

OSHA requires companies to review their lockout/tagout procedures at least once per year. ECPL simplifies this process by performing the annual audit for you or by giving your team access to exclusive auditing software LockStep.

LOTO annual audit services keep your program accurate, compliant, and up to date. Each year, we review machines, procedures, and placards to confirm they match how equipment is actually used on the floor.

LockStep documents every review in one organized system. It tracks changes, identifies gaps, and records compliant and non compliant items. As a result, you gain clearer documentation, easier audits, a compliance dashboard, and confidence that your LOTO program meets OSHA requirements without adding extra burden to your team.
